Ski Resort Information

Unbeatable environment with the splendid city of Granada at your feet. The ski resort of Sierra Nevada, located in the Penibetic System, is the southernmost in Europe and offers unique conditions for skiing and snow in its 106 kilometers of skiing on 124 slopes for all levels. Sierra Nevada has one of the most extensive ski areas of the peninsula, with the spectacular Pico Veleta (3.398 m) and the highest skiable slope of the peninsula, 1,200 meters. Just 32 kilometers from Granada, it offers unique views of the Alpujarras or the Mediterranean Sea from its highest point at 3,300m, and even the African continent, on a clear day. Its domain is divided into four zones: Montebajo, with direct connection from Borreguiles to the dreamland zone, which is ideal for beginners. Zacatin-Universiade, with medium-level red runs, such as the Eagle track, almost 6 kilometers long. The Lagoon of the Yeguas, with long and complicated red runs and a free-ride zone. Lilar de Dílar offers long and pleasant blue runs, mixed with complicated black runs, in the zones of competition of slalom and freestyle. Thanks to its height along with its northwest orientation and exceptional snow conditions people are drawn from all corners of the world. It’s extensive offering ensures fun with a cross-country ski circuit or the famous Super Park Sulayr, the snow-park that hosted the final of the Snowboard World Cup and Freestyle 2013. In addition, it has the longest halfpipe in Spain, with 165 m in length and 6 m in height. In the Sierra Nevada it is possible to ski during the day and take the sea breeze at night thanks to its proximity to the coast of Granada. It is the only resort where the mountain and the sea are such a short distance apart. It is just an hour's drive from the coastal town of Motril, an excellent destination to end a day of sports success and regain your energy.
